# Max 9 + Spat 5

## Special Assets for Spatial Audio

Currently, we support **Max 8.6.0** and above, as well as **Spat 5.2.0** and above.

Max is a programming language for music and sounds, it allows the user to carefully control and edit sounds to be used in the CRAIVE-Lab. Max 8 can be downloaded from [here](https://cycling74.com/downloads). Beginner friendly tutorials for Max 8 can be found through [here](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD45EDA6F67827497).

Spat 5 is a package for Max 8 which allows it to be controlled better in the CRAIVE-Lab and can be downloaded from [here](https://forum.ircam.fr/projects/detail/spat/).

A special asset for spatial audio has been developed for the CRAIVE-Lab. You can download it on our [GitHub page](https://github.com/craive-lab/rois-special-asset-for-spatial-audio).

### Virtual Speaker Maps for Spat

Four versions of virtual speaker maps for Spat are available, listed below:
